TWO MEN I LOVE - ??
There are millions of great people in the world. But, millions of cowardly, ignorant, and evil people get all of the best press. There are millions of sobering heroes hiding quietly upon our insanely violent streets.
I dedicated a very special portion of my diverse corporate lives to training children to avoid, and law enforcement officers to abduct and prosecute, child predators. I have taught parents to detect and expose child predators. Teaching people to be courageous enough to thwart child predators is a far more daunting task.
I love two anonymous, young, quick, and brave black men who make me very proud to be an African-American. They are heroic video stars who shine as they run to save a young girl appearing to be abducted on a busy city street. No other person dared to help this visibly desperate child.
Our savage world is increasingly unsafe for children. Too many people assume that being a parent means paying bills. It actually means paying attention. It takes a village to rear a child. We must all become braver villagers as we all pay much more collective attention to all of our children.

SAPPHIRE’S NOVEL “PUSH” BECOMES THE SCREEN GEM “PRECIOUS”
I am a realist. That is why I am a loyal fan of Lee Daniels and all of his stellar work. I admire him as a beautiful and out gay man. I revere him as a gifted director of edgy raw dramas. His films are always passionately real, deeply cerebral, and hauntingly complex. Most films seek to escape reality. Lee’s brave films hypnotically wallow in reality. That is why I adore all of his films.
I am also a true fan of Sapphire. She is a renowned author and poet who is equally brave and gifted. Her raw and rebel work includes a classic and prophetic poem about Michael Jackson and the fatality of homophobia and white supremacy, featured in her classic 1999 book of prose entitled "Black Wings & Blind Angels: Poems". Had Michael’s sane homosexual spirit not been tortured to death by the typically homohating Jehovah Witness religion or tormented by his groupie loving heterosexual whore father and brothers, perhaps he could have grown to be a happy and mature homosexual man. But, like so many deeply closeted gay priests driven to pedophilia by the insanity of forced celibacy and psychoses of religious self-hatred, Michael went visibly insane before he died.
As a fellow lesbian, I idolize Sapphire’s rebel courage and candor. Sapphire’s uncensored truths
combined with Lee Daniels unmatched vision can only fashion creative perfection. I expect only sheer excellence from these two superior artists. A superb cast and monied producers like Tyler Perry and Oprah Winfrey only enhance a project destined to be great. Both Perry and Winfrey have bravely revealed their own experiences as sexually abused children.
Toxic parenting is the greatest gaping wound in America! Wounds heal best in open air. Sapphire’s legendary novel “Push” simultaneously exposes toxic parenting, extreme sexual child abuse, and colorism. Daniels’ film is certain to expertly illuminate these festering wounds. Hopefully, they will also spark belated and healing discussions.

HURRICANE OBAMA FIZZLED OUT IN NOLA
Yesterday, President Barack Obama/GWB 2.0 and his teleprompter briefly stopped by New Orleans to give yet another empty speech to those whose lives were made legendarily barren by Hurricane Katrina. I never expected Obama to act sincerely or substantively. Long ago, Obama clearly exposed his apathy for impoverished and incessantly abused Katrina victims.
In 2007, on the subject of hurricane Katrina, Barack Obama stated that the rabidly racist and elitist administration of King Shrub/President-Select George W. Bush was “colorblind in its incompetence.”
I view that ludicrous statement as a blatant lie, typical of Obama’s vapid and routinely revisionist (though often simultaneously poetic) reflections. Color me AWAKE, unenthralled, and dejected! Hero, scholar, and sage Mumia Abu-Jamal said it best: “...a New Democrat is no different from an Old Republican." (June, 1993 - “Clinton Guillotines Guinier”- Live From Death Row)
Politicos never become noble or humane simply because they suddenly become president. Obama’s horribly vapid performance in New Orleans lived down to my expectations. Even the most mindless Obama Nazis were appalled at his repulsively phony and meaningless responses to the embattled attendees who had nothing better to do than entertain Obama’s brutal folly on tour.

A MAN I LOVE - KEVIN POWELL
I am an interpersonal and organizational communications scholar. I watch some of the better reality shows as an academic observer of interpersonal relations. The original 1992 cast of MTV’s “The Real World” created the most realistic show to date.
No show has ever captured the hypnotic charm of that original crew. The intellectual, fiery, afrocentric, and cute journalist Kevin Powell shone most brightly. I fell in love with Kevin at first sight. And, I have fallen in love with him more each year since…
Kevin is gifted and cerebral. His passionate writing is always honest and healing.
He speaks from reformed experience when he courageously counsels men who abuse women. He expertly and defiantly confronts sexism as only secure men do and brave men can. He is an activist who is unafraid to share his pain and tears. He is that rare aspiring politico unwilling to sell his soul.
Kevin epitomizes my definition of a real man. He is that rare heroic breed of black warrior. ADVERTISE ACCOUNTABILITY TO EXPOSE APATHY!!!
KUDOS TO WARRIOR PARENTS IN DC!!!
An organization of rebel educators called D.C. Children First is calling out President Barack Obama/GWB 2.0 on his broken promises. Obama axed the popular and necessary D. C. Opportunity Scholarship Program. Then, just as he gutted 85 million dollars from historically black colleges and universities, he boldly offered no alternatives. Now, the poor and wise black parents he betrayed are amplifying their rebel calls with a scathing television ad. This is an act of revolution that will be televised!
In a typically amoral politico move, Obama is still brazenly ignoring these poor black parents. He has a very long list of brazenly broken promises that he similarly ignores. Rather than belatedly become accountable to these parents, Obama has sent his drones to try to kill their righteous rebellion and their revealing TV ad.
Obama’s newest evil deed is further solid evidence that he is a rabidly ruthless elitist. Elitists truly feel entitled to endless special privileges that they deliberately deny all impoverished “peasants” whom they rule. Until major and complex reforms are achieved, most public schools are doomed. Best wishes to those poor black parents in DC who righteously demand that their own children deserve superior educations precisely like those that Malia Obama and Sasha Obama are receiving.
Academic sage Jonathan Kozol said it best in his rebel literary masterpiece “The Shame of a Nation: The Restoration of Apartheid Schooling in America”:
“In a nation in which fairness was respected, children of the poorest and least educated mothers would receive the most expensive and most costly pre-school preparation, not the least and cheapest, because children in these families need it so much more than those whose educated parents can deliver the same benefits of early learning to them in their home….The inequities in educational provisions that we give, or do not give, these children from the starting gate are given less attention.”

A MAN I LOVE: BILL COSBY
America is a nation of increasingly fatal societal wounds. Currently, the greatest social wound in America is ignored by millions of cowardly and amoral politicos. It is the wound of toxic parenting.
This wound is festering across all boundaries of race and class. Wounds heal best in open air. Bill Cosby was the first black celebrity brave enough to speak the wound of toxic parenting into open air. Now, the gravely overdue healing of this infected gaping wound may begin.
Toxic parents have ruined all of our public spaces and our collective destiny. Their toxic children have ruined our schools and malls. Their toxic antics have ruined our clubs and restaurants. We are not safe anywhere. Our world and none of us will ever be saved within these toxic frays. Until the remedies for toxic parenting become priorities as urgent as oil, football, strippers, and cable TV, we are all doomed.
I love Cosby because he is an afrocentric intellectual, a philanthropist, a veteran social activist, and a brave academic rebel. I love him because he is a gifted television producer who created the Cosby show as one of the finest black programs ever to air on television. As I occasionally channel surf past the endlessly mindless sitcoms that rule TV fare today, I miss the Huxtables even more.
The renowned jazz artists who graced the Cosby show with classic songs and cameos were a part of its special and timeless charm for musicologists like me. From Nancy Wilson to Big Maybelle, the musical magic rocked weekly. Cosby’s newest musical project will bring that same magic to positive rap songs. It is entitled “Bill Cosby Presents the Cosnarati: State of Emergency”. And, like all of his work, it will be superb. At 46, I remember when rap music was rebellion in syncopation, rather than the generic genocide it is now. I anxiously await Cosby’s revolutionary retro rewind.
I love Cosby because he has produced meaningful documentaries and cartoons that gave me valuable lessons as an adult and a child. He loves children and black people as deeply as I do. He has courageously and nobly dedicated his life to the people he loves.
I love Cosby because he epitomizes dignity and grace even in tragic times. He mourned the tragic loss of his special son as graciously as he navigated the legal chaos of a mistress and her daughter. Like all humans, he is not flawless. But, he is always fierce.
Thank you Mr. Cosby! Thank you for being bold, black, and beautiful. Thank you for mentoring and safeguarding future generations of black babies, who may grow up to be just like you…

“We remember the injustice of how slavers brought our people to America, but we have forgotten the brilliance of our response - how we sneaked around late at night and taught ourselves to read, taught ourselves secret signals to resist, taught ourselves pride and will and love. We have to draw on that history of persistence.
[The elites] are buying things for their kids...$500 sneakers. For what? And won’t spend $200 for Hooked on Phonics!
The lower economic people are not holding up their end in this deal. These people are not parenting.
One advantage that African-American kids have over most people in the world is the ability to speak English. It's the international language of business. To be a success anywhere on the globe, you have to speak it. But we're letting this advantage slip away too. Many of our kids don't want to speak English. In our day, we used to talk a certain way on the corner, but when we got into the house, we switched to English. We used to blame the kids for talking this way until we heard some of their parents. Some black parents couldn't care less.
Most black employers we know want to see the entire community prosper. But even they don't want to hire boys who can't dress properly, and who speak as if English were a second language. When we see these boys walking around the neighborhood, we imagine them thirty or forty years down the road wandering around just as aimlessly, and we want to cry.
A mother can usually teach a daughter how to be a woman. But as much as mothers love their sons, they have difficulty showing a son how to be a man. A successful man can channel his natural aggression. Without that discipline, these sons often get into trouble at school because many teachers find it difficult to manage their "acting out" behavior. If you think we're exaggerating, talk to a teacher.
A working parent can also introduce [children] to a rather simple device that all of us hate but that most of us have learned to live with, an alarm clock. Getting up when you're tired and going to school or work is not something that comes naturally to anyone. It's something that kids have to learn at home.
There are whole blocks with scarcely a married couple, whole blocks without responsible males to watch out for wayward boys, whole neighborhoods in which little girls and boys come of age without seeing up close a committed partnership and perhaps never having attended a wedding.
Certain people tell us that we are picking on the poor. Many of those who accuse us are scholars and intellectuals, upset that we are not blaming everything on white people as they do. Well, blaming only the system keeps certain black people in the limelight, but it also keeps the black poor wallowing in victimhood.”

AN HONOR UNDESERVED – A PRIZED 12 DAYS!!!
Surreally, President Barack Obama/GWB 2.0 has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
I am reeling with stunned rage. In response to all of the sincere confusion, elated congratulations, coddling praises, feigned humility, and whispered shock, I initially had only one simple question:
What has Obama actually DONE to deserve the Nobel Peace Prize?
Typically, pondering this initial question only begged many more:
Obama was president for only 12 days before the nomination closed for this prize.
WHO so curiously and hastily nominated Obama? Precisely WHAT had Obama accomplished by his 12th day in office that was so amazing and impressive?
The Nobel committee claims that Obama was chosen for “extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy, his work on nuclear disarmament and climate change, and changing the tone of American politics”. When did I miss these great global feats by Obama? Who disarmed? Where are the new love fests among American politicos and voters? When did our globe suddenly cool off? On what countries’ soil was all of this greatness achieved?
Just how does any leader who is ACTIVELY engaged in several wars, and plotting to send over 40,000 additional soldiers to die for oil and construction contracts, qualify as the recipient of ANY “peace” prize? Is “peace” not the complete opposite of “war”???
How have Obama’s contributions to global poverty, grossly worsened by his bilking of the poor to fund the rich, and his blatant refusal to publicly acknowledge any racial issue blacker than the arrest of his legendarily eurocentric and elitist pal Henry Louis “Skip” Gates increased any peace???
If Obama is sincerely seeking to improve America’s global image and political climate, how will accepting this grossly undeserved global award assist him in that grand and noble endeavor? What foreigner truly earned the award that Obama and America have now stolen?
If Obama’s presidential legacy somehow proves to be a positive one, will there be any awards left to bestow upon him that he has not already prematurely “won”?
Reformed original gangster Stanley “Tookie” Williams was nominated for five Nobel Peace Prizes. He never won because the gangs he founded and tried to eradicate are still at war. Why do the ongoing wars of Crips and Bloods disqualify the executed Williams, but the ongoing wars of Afghanis and Iraquis only exalt the blindly beloved Obama? If “Tookie” had added 40,000 gangsters to the streets of America the way that Obama is set to add 40, 000 soldiers to the mountains of Afghanistan, would Tookie have won the Nobel Peace Prize then?
To date, Obama has done nothing except escalate ALL of Bush's worst political sins and wars. Clearly, Obama is GWB 2.0 as a smoother blackish clone of Bush. So, isn't Bush owed a belated Nobel Peace Prize?
Precisely how does an increasingly transparent Manchurian candidate like the blackish Obama, with his paper thin resume and his even thinner soul, earn one of the most prestigious global awards ever won?
When a naked emperor is given an undeserved prize, can it ever really count as political clothing?...

Both legendary heros would NEVER have dismissed the horrid hypocrisies of black gaybashers or Obama’s ongoing serial betrayals of homosexual voters! Baldwin would NEVER tell us to silently wait until Obama belatedly decides to deliver a single political promise to us! Loyalty trumps lip
service. Obama’s loyalty to homosexuals ended the moment he was done pimping our votes to secure his presidential election. He has diligently proven that he is the kind of friend who clones the abuses of our worst enemies.
Please know that we homosexuals do not need you to define whom we should regard as a friend. We choose to embrace political allies based on their actions. Obama’s inaction proves that he is indeed our enemy more each day.
I suggest that you speak to a homosexual before you evaluate what you presume to be our political issues. Millions of us could not care less about gay marriage. We have no desire to join you heterosexuals in the toxic frays of endless brutal divorces and miserable custody battles.
Gay marriage has never been our defining issue with Obama. He has kept NO promises about ANY issue remotely related to equal civil rights for homosexuals. We are not angry at Obama solely due to his failures to secure the legality of gay marriages. Yet, marriage is a human right. Unlike you and Obama, our true friends view our rights as completely equal as they have a complete respect for our equivalent humanity.
Our honeymoon with Obama is officially over because he has failed to deliver a single political promise to us. Like millions of heterosexual voters who can legally marry, we are motivated by the same dejection regarding Obama’s generic ineptitude in achieving a single campaign promise. Like heterosexuals and blacks, homosexuals are NOT a monolith with any singular political agenda!
We are enraged at Obama for his failure to deliver on any significant component of our diverse political agendas. Much like your political advisory skills within your grossly offensive missive to homosexuals, Obama has failed us miserably. His broken promises to date include: the eradication of the military’s bigoted “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” policy; enacting the “Matthew Shepard Hate-Crimes Bill”; and securing insurance benefits for gay spouses of Federal employees. Obama’s failure to repeal the hateful “Defense of Marriage Act” is literally the tip of the iceberg fashioned by a series of Obama’s iciest political betrayals.
Initially, Obama
cavalierly embraced the gaybashing homosexual Donnie McClurkin, as they wooed votes from ungodly homohating black church folks on his hypochristian campaign trails. Then, Obama legendarily honored rabid homohater Rick Warren by allowing him to deliver his inaugural prayer as a sacred slap in the faces of millions of homosexual voters. Next, Obama proceeded to begin a third passionate bromance with macho jock gaybasher Tony Dungy, who millions of gays believe may have driven his own homosexual son to suicide.
What I find even more offensive than your bastardization of the legacies of Baldwin and Douglass is your blatant omission of any mention of McClurkin, Warren, or Dungy in your uniquely unintelligent directive. Silence is consent. I see that your own silences are as selective and shady as Obama himself.
Like millions of other wise gays who refuse to be political doormats for Obama, I am absolutely appalled that the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) has chosen to invite him to tell homosexuals more lies. It is akin to inviting Don Imus to speak at a black hair show. It is as painfully awkward as inviting Tony Dungy to speak at a PFLAG convention. It is as senseless as inviting Donnie McClurkin to host one of his suicidal “workshops”, which teach gay men to be abusive down-low adulterers, to speak at a Black Gay Pride rally. It is as vulgar as choosing Rick Warren to pastor a gay wedding.
Obama has similarly betrayed millions of other voters even more than he has dogged homosexuals. They include countless teachers who loathe the academic genocide of NCLB, millions of Latinos seeking immigration reform, and millions of newly homeless foreclosed black and Latino homeowners. Obama’s perpetual betrayals are indeed his only tangible deeds to date.
We homosexuals never requested invitations to Obama’s White House parties. We expected to share his alleged passion for actual change in DC. We do not need his cocktails. We demand his courage. I doubt that Obama would have accepted an invitation from the National Black Justice Coalition as readily as he did this confusing one from the HRC. He has typically and infamously avoided other black and black gay events to date.
Millions of blacks rejected Colin Powell and Condoleeza Rice as proof of racial progressiveness from the racist King Shrub/George W. Bush. His racist antics trumped his largesse to black neocons within his cabinet. Likewise, Obama’s token gay appointees do not authenticate his friendship to homosexuals.
As Obama continues to openly cater exclusively to ultra rich white men, the poorest Blacks continue to coddle and excuse his genocidal and elitist antics. Why expect homosexuals to be equally masochistic? The equal right to be coddling clones of Obama’s black bone catchers and political doormats is not the equality we homosexuals seek!

Ingesting any drugs and combining them with excessive alcohol is never a wise choice.

I do not feel one iota of pity for Roman Polanski! I am repulsed by all who dare to defend his lechery. And, I am shocked that many of his most ardent defenders are females. Pedophiles and rapists are never forgiven by me, even when these criminals are superstars who can wonderfully sing, dance, and create great films.
Celebrity typically trumps criminality. Polanski is very blessed that he is rich, beloved, exotic, and gifted. He is lucky that he is not black and poor. He is fortunate that he is not a menial laborer or a homosexual. If Polanski had been any of these things, he would have been quickly hunted down and locked up long ago. And, even 30 years after his heinous sleazy crimes, he would be swiftly locked down forever!

I love Warren G. I think he is talented and cute. I love California. I love Warren’s signature West Coast sound. But, I hate gaybashing hypocrisy more than I love anything!!!
Warren recently said one of the most hypocritical and moronic homohating things I have ever heard. He said that all gays should be banned from television because his children may see men kissing. Warren is afraid that sexuality is contagious. It is not! Warren fails to realize that millions of gay children ONLY see men kissing women on TV. And, we STILL grow up to be homosexuals.

Recently, in my violent hometown of Chicago, a beautiful and gifted honors student named Derrion Albert was beaten to death by a mob of ruthlessly inhumane and rabidly illiterate black peers. One of the amoral teens jubilantly filmed Derrion’s brutal murder on a cell phone. That video has gone viral. I have watched it several times. I have seen NO gay men kissing on that video.
Warren’s gangsta rap music has contributed to the violence that plagues our bloody world. I have never seen gay men kissing in ANY of his videos. I have never heard his lyrics mention ANY gay men kissing.
Bigotry is ignorance. Ignorance is illogical. Nothing is as illogical as ignoring the vicious and fatal evil that gangstas, and those who idolize them, do while fretting over gay men kissing on TV!

Kaleb is a student at Yazoo County High School in Yazoo City, Mississippi. He is a football star, a superb brother, a fine young man, and my newest hero. While riding to school Thursday, he saved the lives of 22 children and an adult driver as he rescued them from a female peer with a loaded gun.
Children in America are increasingly and proudly illiterate and violent. Millions of them torture their peers in schools and on buses daily. Yesterday, Kaleb showed the world that there are still shining exceptions to every rule.
Kaleb is humble, brave, and triply strong; spiritually, mentally, and physically. While we are in awe of his heroic tackle, Kaleb seems to act as if he has done nothing special. Just another day in the special life of an exceptional man.

ON OBAMA’S CANNIBALS & NAZIS
As President Barack Obama/GWB 2.0 toils to gift medical corporations with the same windfall trillions that he has given to elitist bankers and auto executives, his blinded Nazis grow more rabid. Yesterday, a crazed Obamabot has actually bitten off the finger of an Obamacare protestor while attending a health reform rally!
The “public option” component of Obama’s proposed “health reform” package is as disposable as his feigned empathy for uninsured voters. This saga has never been about patients. This medical swindleus plan will only increase profits for medical corporations and ensure that government coffers share those new riches.
Real health care reform would actually benefit the uninsured without positioning the government as a competitive medical insurer with a grossly unfair capitalist advantage over private insurers. It would provide medical care for the unemployed poor without degrading the quality of medical care of those privately insured by employers. It would include a fiscally feasible and realistic plan to increase the numbers of physicians to handle the increased number of patients…
Rebel sage Jeff Rense has succinctly and eloquently detailed the truths behind the mythical madness of Obamacare:
“Insurers today compete by denying care, choosing healthy customers, not the sick, shifting costs onto patients, and lobbying for public subsidies and industry-friendly legislation. Decades of experience (have shown) that private insurers cannot control costs or provide families with the coverage they need. They're the bane of the system, not the solution, and government-run clones won't fix the problems because no effort will be made to try.
Obama wants to ration health care by instituting a "global payments" system in place of the current fee-for-service one that reimburses for each visit or procedure. It assures expensive services would be limited or denied, outpatient treatment and drugs will substitute for many surgeries, and full coverage will only be available for higher fees or expensive supplemental insurance premiums.
Obamacare is reactionary and class-based. It's industry-friendly at the expense of real reform. It assures affluent households top-flight care, others only as much as they can afford, and imposes fines on people too poor to buy coverage, so whatever plan is imposed on them will be inadequate when they need it most because current ones are designed to fail. It subordinates essential needs to bottom-line considerations and leaves a broken system in place.

AUGUST 10, 1963 – MY EARTH DAY
Thank you to everyone who has read my blog this year! I have been opining online since 1992. You are all my eternal inspirations!
I dedicate my blog today to my mother, Laura Delores Strong-Banks. She has been my best friend since birth. I thank her for choosing to give me life, my greatest gift ever. I am honored that my mom is still my very best friend. She just retired from her busy career as a revered educator. I cherish the increased time that we now have to spend together.
I am an admitted
workaholic. I apologize to my soul mate and friends for this flaw incessantly. Today, I am 46 years old. Each day of life is a blessing in a world where premature death is increasingly common. I thank God for the wonderful blessing of one more year of life.
I am also a logophile and a musicologist. Poetry and music lyrics are two of my greatest passions. Country music is sheer poetry so I love lots of great country songs. I will be enjoying the spiritual tune by Tim McGraw below today.

If I had my life to live over, I would have talked less and listened more.
I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained and the sofa faded.
I would have eaten the popcorn in the 'good' living room and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace.
I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth.
I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up on a summer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed.
I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage.
I would have sat on the lawn with my children and not worried about grass stains.
I would have cried and laughed less while watching television - and more while watching life.
I would have shared more of the responsibility carried by my husband.
I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren't there for the day.
I would never have bought anything just because it was practical, wouldn't show soil or was guaranteed to last a lifetime.
Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I'd have cherished every moment and realized that the wonderment growing inside me was the only chance in life to assist God in a miracle.
When my kids kissed me impetuously, I would never have said, "Later. Now go get washed up for dinner."
There would have been more "I love yous".. More "I'm sorrys" ...
But mostly, given another shot at life, I would seize every minute... look at it and really see it ... live it...and never give it back.

Dear Mr. President:
I am so very disappointed and depressed by the unprecedented trillions of dollars in debt that you have amassed in such a short time in office. I am appalled that you soon plan to bilk the poor again to pay the very same rich executives who squandered your initial billions gifted. But, I think it is my patriotic duty to do more than call you out for your horrid monetary abuses.
I feel I should assist you in balancing the budget in any way possible. So, here is my excellent idea:
Dr. Arnold Klein claims that he has a super skin lightening cream that can make people as white as Michael Jackson was when he died. Michael Jackson was visibly the evenly whitest person on earth when he expired. KUDOS TO THE JACKSON FAMILY!!!
Nothing should ever censor entire truths. Not even the dual deaths of both iconic Michael Jacksons, black or white. Michael’s eternal legacy will forever be mixed by his adult madness.
The Jackson Family shared a beautiful eulogy for Michael with the world today. I thank them for their inclusion of many images of that beautiful black boy Michael Joseph Jackson that I will always adore. They blackened the memory of the ghastly whitened adult Michael with a soulful sendoff. They kept Michael’s final show classy and spiritual. Their beautiful tribute made it so very clear that the Jacksons never left Michael as Michael clearly left them, his blackness, and his sanity.

Where does that leave us gay/bi blacks? I donated to NO on 8, but for some reason I feel like I'm being generalized with the rest of the black community when white gays spew hatred at blacks as a whole for this. It is always good to read the words of your beautiful mind. And on the issue of gay-rights, particularly gay marriage, our minds meet... I addressed this past Nov. 4th Black anti-gay debacle on my fledgling blog. The meat of how I feel:
"..I swear, If I have to hear one more Black gay person try to defend the Black mainstream community's blatantly hypocritical, oxymoronic, equal-rights denying slap in the face to their gay brothers and sisters as a failure of WHITE PEOPLE (mainstream gay rights movement) to reach out to Black people, I am going to f^cking scream until my tonsils burst into flame. It is an asinine argument. One whose purpose is more exculpatory than explanatory.
Are we really expected to buy into the rationale that Black people are so unprogressive – so unsophisticated – that we require the intervention of White activists to explain to us the fundamental relevancy of fair and equal treatment for all under the law? Are some of us actually trying to persuade others to swallow the ridiculous proposition (no pun intended) that our community is so politically and racially simple-minded that we are incapable of empathizing and understanding the intrinsic harm that is done to our Black gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered family members & friends by discriminatory anti-gay laws if the popular face of the resistance is anything other than Black?… How can the argument that White gays and lesbians should be expected to shoulder the responsibility of reaching out, building bridges and educating the Black community, more so than the Black Gay community, be made with a straight face? What, are we too inept to discern for ourselves the need to stand up and let our dignity, love, pride and humanity be seen and speak to the conscience of our heterosexual brothers, fathers, sisters, mothers, and children; and impress upon them their moral obligation to protect and treasure our access to freedom and equality as well as their own?
These idiotic concepts are exactly what is implied by this, “the face of the gay-rights movement is white, that's why Black folks can't relate to it,” farcical reasoning. It removes the onus for our detestable voting conduct and misguidedly – in this case – drops it at the feet of white gays….

I saw your link on Rod's blog. Thanks for your break down of Charlene. You are so right that whatever new name she gives herself, at her core she will always have homosexual attractions. If Charlene wants to be wrapped up in the 'ex-gay' delusion then so be it. The thing that REALLY bothers me is that she will use her platform to continue to spread lies about the lgbt community. It's a shame that she will tell others that their unhappiness is tied into their homosexuality and that her brand of Jesus will set them 'straight'. This is devastating to adults and youth who need respect not scorn.
Someone really did a number on people like her and Donnie McClurkin because their ‘ministry’ against the lgbt community is pure anger and resentment. Alicia, I am a huge music fan. Here is my Eric Benet story. I was standing backstage at a concert with Eric and Lalah Hathaway. Someone else was on stage at the time and I was standing next to this small in stature but large in spirit man. I can't recall what we talked about but all of a sudden they announced Eric Benet to the stage and he turned to me and said, "Good talking to you, stay right here and I'll be right back." Lalah was teasing me saying you didn't know that was Eric Benet? All I remember is he has such a beautiful spirit and the prettiest skin.
Afterward, I asked Eric if I could take a picture of him and he said, "Sister, thank you so much for asking. Do you know how many people just walk up to me and snap the picture. We took the picture and we just hugged each other.
That is my Eric Benet story. I am not familiar with his music catalog but his spirit will live with me forever.

Regarding the shooting of the Oakland Police. I had to catch myself because it was easy for me to say that "what goes around comes around". I then realized that way of thinking is not God like and not in tune with my nature.
I am really tired of us as a people attempting to rally around and justify the actions of those who pillage our communities. Wrong is wrong. The feeling that we blacks feel when someone has wrong our families should never be wished on another's family.

i just had to say thank you for the post concerning the model tv show. and the one about unloving wrong loving serface christians that end up being hypocrites.
too many people think that we are Not born this way--like they know All of God's ways and plans--which they do not.
Being a christan myself-i can only offer them more love and compassion-as i refuse to be tempted to hate those that are living as slaves and do not know it.
they are sad and even though i love them and pray for their freedom and i pray that they learn to have a relationship beneath the surface of His Word instead of feeding their religious-going to church for appearance sakes--And i also kep in mind that many christians are simply immature in their growth of Spirituality and some have been taught so wrong by some wrong leader. So many do not know that they do not know!

I love your blog. I just wanted to ask your opinion about the sexist and mysogonisitc criticisms that CP received for her bigoted views.
I am not one of those people who thinks she has a right to her views or that this is about freedom of speech. What she said was bigoted plain and simple. She deserves criticisms of course. I am not saying people need to be nice in their criticisms.
But just as it would not be right to make racist criticisms or use racsim to criticise Obama when he fails glbt community it is not right to make sexist and misogonistic criticisms of CP as sexism and misogony affects all women. A lot of the criticims of CP by Perez Hilton, Keith Olbemann, a gay guest he had on his show (can't remember his name) and Ted Casablanca all focused on calling her a bitch (a word I consider a slur to women), her breast implants, the usual stereotype blonde dumb jokes. You see even Hillary Clinton was called a bitch, male pundits made fun of her looks, her ass, good looking women (by society's standards) who are smart are always called bimbos, women who are not considered beautiful by society are always accused of being sexually repressed. Because you see we feminist are all ugly and hairy and all the beautiful women are dumb and can't possibly be feminist. Criticims of women are always about their looks, their bodies and those criticims are full of anti-women slurs.
I am upset by the ease with which gay men see no problem using sexist misogonyistic stereotypes and slurs to criticise CP. If I used gay stereotypes or gay slurs to criticise Andrew Sullivan a gay man who thinks women should either have babies when they are pregnant or have back ally abortions if they do not want them. Would that be right? Of course not, I should criticise what he said and how misoginistic that is not use ani-day slurs to attack him.
So why can't gay men do that when criticisng CP, criticise what she said, call her bigot and don't let up.
Don't get me wrong, I am not supporting her or feel sorry for her. She is bigot, be vicious in the criticims of her as a bigot. But don't use sexist stereotypes or anti-women slurs to attack her. Sexism affects all women, even those we like like Hillary Clinton and so it is not OK to use sexism to criticise CP.

I too agree that Obama is starting to mirror many a tyrannical despot in the annals of our history. This of course is true regarding his screwed up economic non policies which boil down to straight up STEALING from all Americans. He has escalated conflict in the middle east when he said he'd bring troops home immediately. But I find his most egregious offence is his blatant disregard for human life. When Obama was a candidate and talked about black men being a better father it was cool. Somebody in a high position that looked like us needed to say something, but now that he's in a position to do something to help with the problem, an empty father's day speech seems more like an attack. Sure, I know people are watching Obama's every move, but I gotta agree with Bill Maher when he said Obama needs more of an I don't care attitude and actually start doing something.

I read it over, over, and over again. I'm now armed to deal with so many haters of the gay lifestyle and church. Then I read the bio on Dr. Horace L. Griffin. And, knew I had to get his book for many reasons. So, thank you again...I know way to many gay teens that have no direction or support and the book will be great for them. I'm still in search of answers or at least some truth about this swine flu madness. I to share with you diabetes as well. So, I'm looking for some sort of care that will get me through the winter months. I did however, do okay last winter with my vitamin c pills. But, I was watching gma this morning on abc...to hear them talk about the swine flu and giving the shots to children. Only to hear the wonderful Chris Cuomo say "I will not be getting any shot because the government has created this SWINE FLU." Wow! and just as a jackass would look at a stripper, is how his co-anchors looked at him. My outrage towards the children responsible for the death of Derrion Albert, pains me like he was my Son. I have no desire to view his death. Out of respect for his mother, father, grandparents, friends...all the people I've heard on the radio and seen on tv. I was the video of his death just disappear. Feminism is about middle class white women, as George Carlin once said it was never about black women or poor women.
So after Gloria Stienem's op-ed in the New York Times last year, where she said there was more gender discrimination than racial discrimination, I don't understand how you could still support Hillary Clinton then and I don't understand why you still call yourself a feminist.
So was feminist a racist movement as the stereotype goes, it is always called white feminism. Although I am surprised Jewish rights groups are never accused of being racist, I don't see any Jewish rights groups being accused of racism, homophobia and sexism considering how Jewish groups don't bother speaking up on this issues as well.
I mean I don't know I never see NOW speaking up on sexism facing Michelle Obama or any black women or other women of color but then again as I am typing this I don't recall NOW speaking up on the sexism facing Hillary Clinton or Sarah Palin.
So I would like to have your opinion on this. I am a woman of color, an Indian women living in Asia and was dissapointed to find out that countries like the US and Canada are still so sexist since I wanted to move to either country some day.
Another feminist Donna Darko, whoose blog I read seems to think white feminist were accused of being racist because feminism was about women's rights and equality and nobody, not the white men, not the black men , not the asian men thought of women's equality as something important.
Do you consider white women to be more racist than black men are sexist.

I tried to leave peacefully...it didn't work.
I went from "Two Men I love" on 10-20. To this video I was just sent.
I will say this and be done with it.
I thank my mother and grandmother often for being stay at home mother's when I was growing up. My grandfather wouldn't hear of my grandmother working. My mom went back to work and school when I entered the second grade. She told me that she would have stayed home with me until she felt comfortable enough that I could handle telling on anyone that would harm me. She did a very good job. Go Mom!!! I never encountered any abuse or mistreatment. First of all I was too scared that my mother would kill me for acting out in school or anywhere else. We were taught not by a fist, or a belt. My mother would talk to us until we got it. She did it in the most loving and educational way of teaching right from wrong. My father was murdered so she was left alone to raise us with the help of her parents and siblings. And, I'll say it again. Go Mom!!!
Why I love, respect, and honor mother's who stay at home to raise and ensure their children's safety. I would be in jail if this happened to me and mine. I don't support violence but, I would be a liar if I didn't say that I would seriously hurt this monster with the strength of the incredible hulk. I promise.
